Leaderpromos Change Agent Award

At Leaderpromos, we recognize those team members that live and reflect our Core Values with an award during our quarterly Town Hall meetings. But even among all of our great team members, there are still those that always seem to stand out just a little more.

To recognize our team members that continually go above and beyond, Leaderpromos developed a Change Agent award. Our first recipient of this award was Marty Schmayer. He consistently steps up to help everyone, with anything, regardless of what the challenge is or what it may involve.

Since this program's introduction, we have been asked "Why is the symbol of the Leaderpromos Change Agent award a buffalo?"

Because of how buffalo react during storms.

What buffalo do during a storm is very unique for the animal kingdom. Buffalo wait for the storm to cross right over the crest of the peak of the mountaintop and as the storm rolls over the ridge the buffalo turn and charge directly into that storm.

By running directly at the storm, they run straight throught it - Thus, minimizing the amount of time and frustration they experience.

It's a great metaphor for all of us because we are all dealing with our own storms.

We spend too much of our lives trying to avoid the inevitable challenges that come along rather than just meeting them head on.

We don't always get to choose whether or not we have storms, but we do have a choice in how we respond to them.

Thank you, Marty!
