The more times a consumer sees your logo, the more likely they will remember you. We explained this bit of marketing psychology in a previous blog post.
In a recent episode of Showtime's hit series Shameless, Fiona Gallagher (played by Emmy Rossum) explains the benefits of using promotional cups due to the amount of potential impressions they can generate.
Fiona works for a fictional promotional company called Worldwide Cup. In this episode, she meets with the owner of the Illinois Gliders, a fictional hockey team, so that she could introduce herself as their new account rep. Her introduction turns into a spontaneous product pitch in which she ends up selling the owner on how using branded cups in the stadium could turn into free out-of-home advertising.
"The stadium holds 16,000 people. Ninety percent of those people buy drinks. Fourteen thousand cups a game. A third of those cups leave the arena. So if a third of those cups had the Illinois Gliders logo instead of plain cups... that's 5,000 pieces of free advertising."
We won't argue her math. It's close enough!
